The main conference as well as the workshops and tutorials will be held in the convention centre at Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin, Germany.
Social Program
Workshop & Tutorial Dinner
On Monday, there will be a workshop & tutorial dinner at Brauhaus Lemke am Schloss, Luisenplatz 1, 10585 Berlin. We will meet there at 7 pm. All conference participants (not only the ones who attended a workshop and/or a tutorial) are invited to join us. The dinner will be on a self-payment basis. Boat Trip and Welcome Reception
On Tuesday, we will go on a boat trip to explore the city. The boat departs at 6 pm at Charlottenburger Ufer 1, 10587 Berlin. After the boat trip, there will be a welcome reception at Fraunhofer FOKUS. The welcome reception will start at 7:30 pm.
Conference Dinner
On Wednesday, there will be a conference dinner at Oxymoron, Rosenthaler Str. 40-41, 10178 Berlin. We will meet there at 7 pm. Further information can be found here: Oxymoron

Public Transportation to the Convention Centre
The conference location is situated in the city and can be easily reached via public transport, taxi or car. The nearest underground station is called Mierendorffplatz (U7). Once you get there, it`s about a 10 min walk to get to the conference centre. You can also take the bus to get to the conference location. The bus line M27 stops at Goslauer Platz, which is located right in front of the conference location.

Airport Ground Transportation information
Berlin has two airports, the TXL and the SXF. Both airports are well connected to the public transportation network. From TXL you can take several busses to get to the city centre. The SXF is also connected to several busses as well as to the S-Bahn.

To get to the conference location, take the S45. Change at S+U Neukölln to the U7 (Rathaus Spandau), and get off at Mierendorffplatz. After a 10 min walk, you will reach the conference location.

Sight Seeing
Schloss Charlottenburg
Charlottenburg Palace is the largest and most significant palace complex in Berlin stemming from the former Brandenburg electors, Prussian kings and German emperors. Following severe damage in World War II, the palace was largely rebuilt and refurnished. The former summer residence is now one of the most important attractions in the German capital. This construction of the central structure of the large palace complex was commissioned by the clever and art-loving Queen Sophia Charlotte and her husband Frederick I. The palace is surrounded by a beautiful park to take a walk and clear your mind.
Eastside Gallery
If you like to visit a historical sight of the more recent Berlin history, the East Side Gallery is worth visiting. It has the largest continuous Berlin Wall Section. With its 101 artistic pictures, it’s the most authentical memorial of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification. This public art gallery has no admission fee and can be visited around the clock. It is located at the waterfront, so you can take a boat tour afterwards, if you like to. Nearby, you can also find lots of cafes and restaurants.
Museum
Berlin has about 170 museums. Especially the five museums on the famous museum island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, are worth visiting. But apart from that, the city has other top exhibitions to offer. For example, the Jewish Museum with its world famous architecture or the DDR Museum, if you want to know more about the living in the former East Germany.
