Here are a few things in town that you may find interesting (from Stan Matwin):

A Brief Halifax Harbour Cruise

If you have a bit of time and would like to see Halifax from the water then you could consider taking the ferry across the harbour from Halifax to Dartmouth. As part of our public transit system this service is very reasonably priced ($2.50) and takes 12 minutes for the crossing. Depending on the time of the ferry comes every 15 minutes, or every 30 minutes. You could spend a bit of time in Dartmouth and take the ferry back again, or it you could consider a longer excursion involving walking back across the MacDonald Bridge. On a fine day it's a beautiful trip. https://www.halifax.ca/transportation/halifax-transit/ferry-serviceIf you are thinking about walking across the bridge please check first to make sure that it is not closed as part of a current maintenance program: https://www.hdbc.ca/closure-times/
